For three months every year, more than 60,000 people flock to Manchester – each clutching their coveted Warehouse Project tickets – for a night spent dancing to sounds spun by some of the world’s finest DJs. The annual influx of clubbers is easy to understand. The Warehouse Project has revolutionised the way we think about clubbing, particularly when it comes to the provision of big name draws. The Warehouse Project has built a reputation for putting on parties featuring the most celebrated DJs and bands from across the whole spectrum of dance music.
The Warehouse Project was launched in 2006, in a disused part of the old Boddington’s brewery near the MEN Arena. The ethos then was as it is now: to offer cutting-edge, genre-led events that cater for as many guests as possible. Since the event’s debut, attendees have been treated to lineups playing every imaginable niche in dance music, from drum’n’bass and grime, to the apparently disparate sounds of house and indie. In 2007, the Warehouse Project moved to its current home underneath Manchester’s Piccadilly railway station. This new – but no less industrial – space makes for a more intimate Warehouse Project experience, as more clubbers pack into the tight Store Street venue to see sets from the leading lights of the dance arena.
There have been live Warehouse Project shows from the likes of Bassment Jaxx, Erol Alkan, Annie Mac, Dizzee Rascal and the Happy Mondays over the years, each creating a surge of people eager to get their hands on Warehouse Project tickets.
Warehouse Project tickets are always in huge demand. Even with 20+ events on the calendar each year, shows invariably sell out within weeks of the Warehouse Project tickets going on sale. The sheer breadth in the variety of parties put on – which satisfies all dance music tastes – shows why Warehouse Project tickets are so highly sought after.
In 2009, the Warehouse Project will host two programmes of events. In addition to its traditional end-of-year slot, Warehouse Project tickets will be on sale for a special Easter lineup, with the likes of Erol Alkan and Cocoon returning to host parties. The availability of these extra Warehouse Project tickets will raise the event’s profile further and stoke up excitement for its return. Warehouse Project tickets for the winter events will be on sale nearer the time, but one thing is for sure: you better snap them up quick before they disappear.
